Precinct caucus night, Tuesday, February 7,
2012, 7:00 p.m., is our best opportunity to decide what form of government we want at
the most fundamental level and we don't even have to go outside our
neighborhood! MNGOP has created a handy
document that explains what a caucus is and why it's important,
defines precinct caucus terms, and contains the party platform as well as a
form to amend it.
Even if you've never attended a caucus
before or aren't involved in politics, we encourage you to attend your
Republican precinct caucus. To find your caucus

While Minneapolis is one of the most
beautiful cities in the Midwest, everyone knows that basic city
services are faltering (potholes, anyone?) while taxes and fees
continue to rise. MCRC has put together some easily readable fact sheets

WHAT DOES THE CITY DO WITH ALL OUR MONEY?
The 2011 Minneapolis city budget is $1.36 BILLION with plans to
increase taxes every year into the distant future. City streets are a
disgrace, high taxes and fees make it nearly unaffordable for families to
live here, and the police and fire departments are severely understaffed.
Expenditures for basic city services are less than half of all city
spending, so where does the rest of the money go? Other Midwest cities of
similar or even larger size manage to provide services for less money.

HOW DO I TAX THEE? LET ME COUNT THE WAYS...
Minneapolis property taxes are not the only revenue source for city
government. There are fees and taxes on nearly everything we do, buy, or
use in the city. Rather than encouraging people to come to our wonderful
city to live and raise their families or to just enjoy our fine restaurants
and theaters, these nickel and dime taxes add up quickly and discourage

Device firms, FDA reach deal on new product OKs

Amy Klobuchar is promoting FDA extortion of the medical device industry which has now "agreed to double the fees it pays
to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration over the next five years. In return, the FDA will hire more people and
speed the process for reviewing new products...I think it will create a pathway to quicker approvals, and that is what we really want here," Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., told the Star Tribune." |

paid to departing state workers and MnSCU employees in the past three years...Now, the University of Minnesota has released
its separate payroll records, showing it paid departing employees $30 million during the same time period. That brings the

Voter Fraud By The Numbers

"The mailings, commonly known as postal verification cards (PVCs) are sent to newly registered voters as a means of
confirming their identity and residence. Thousands of voters were flagged for challenge following the 2008 and 2010 general
elections in Minnesota...After the 2008 election, over 6,000 Election Day registrants were found to have provided addresses
that were undeliverable and after 2010 there were over 1,200 more that remain unexplained even after accounting for voters
who moved shortly after voting. This is a strong indicator of the possibility of voter fraud." |
