Message from Ward Chair Joel Quinnell
Greetings, my name is Joel Quinnell. I have been a Ward 11 resident
over 10 years now. I tell my friends that I live in “Liberalapolis.”
Minneapolis is failing its citizens in many areas and reform is
sorely needed.
With political correctness run-a-muck in our city, crime and murder
rates on the rise, school graduation rates (Minneapolis public
schools) at or near all time lows, and taxes through the roof! It’s
time to get some conservative voices of reason in City Hall…not
making laws and policies based on what feels good...but on what
actually works!
My goals as Ward 11 Chair are to work closely with our precinct
chairs to establish and develop a well organized and enthusiastic
grass roots effort; exposing and engaging neighborhood volunteers
who will identify like minded conservatives. Through their efforts,
combined with strong leadership, we will hopefully see a resurgence
in the Republican Party in Minneapolis and Minnesota as a whole.
We will also seek out a strong conservative candidate to run for
Ward 11 councilman in 2009. This will be my primary focus as Ward
Chair. Our goal is to unseat current councilman, Scott Benson. We
believe the conservative values and republican principles of less
government, lower taxes, less “nanny state” politics and more
sensible use of city funds have been all but ignored at City Hall.
I want and need feedback from you, the residents of Ward 11. Your
input and concerns will not fall on deaf ears. We will attempt to
host some social events focused on issues relevant to our ward. You
will be able to meet and network with others who share your values
and political stances. These events will be both fun and
informative. We want to motivate and mobilize our neighborhoods to
take action and bring some desperately needed balance of thought to
City Hall! Please contact me at
